Doris N. (Drenning) Shaffer

Doris N. Shaffer, 84, of Everett, PA; passed away on Friday, March 10, 2017 surrounded by her family at home.  She was born on January 12, 1933 in Wood, Pennsylvania; a daughter of the late Wilmer and Merida (Eichelberger) Drenning.  On December 29, 1949 in Cumberland, Maryland; she married her husband and soul mate of sixty seven years Franklin D. Shaffer.  In addition to her husband she is survived by daughter Cathy A. married to James Clark, Everett, PA and her four legged friends and companions Precious and Abby.

Doris attended Everett United Methodist Church.

She was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1951. After graduation she attended Altoona School of Cosmetology where she received her Operators License and Teachers Certificate of Cosmetology.

Mrs. Shaffer owned and operated Doris’ Beauty Boutique in Everett for many years until her retirement in 2014.  She worked as a beautician for sixty years.

Doris enjoyed painting, arranging floral pieces, reading, flower and vegetable gardening.  Above all was her great love for her family and spending time with them.

A Private Celebration of Life Service will be held.
