Maxine (Hockenberry) Snyder

Maxine Snyder, 90, of Black Valley Road, Everett, PA, passed away on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  She was born on September 29, 1926 in Mench, Pennsylvania; a daughter of the late Harry F. and Flossie (Mellott) Hockenberry.  On August 20, 1976 she married Theodore Snyder.  He preceded her in death on December 9, 1990.  She is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by sisters Mabel L. Layton, Viola E. Cornell, Jessie Shaffer and Hazel L. Coleman; brothers Robert W. Hockenberry, Larence H. Hockenberry, Samuel E. Hockenberry, Harry F. Hockenberry, Jr., Lee E. Hockenberry and Eugene D. Hockenberry.

Mrs. Snyder was a member of Mt. Union Christian Church.

She enjoyed shopping, dancing, listening to country music and outings with the girls.

She was employed as a cook over the years at various local restaurants.  Maxine was a member of the Breezewood Senior Center.

Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Saturday, April 1, 2017 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home, Everett with Rev. Robert R. Robertson officiating.

Burial will be held at Mt. Union Cemetery, Mench.
