William “Bill” M. Hood, 53, of Artemas, PA; passed away on Wednesday, January 15, 2025. He was born on May 18, 1971; a son of the late James F. and Beverly A. (Coote) Hood.
He is a beloved husband of thirty-five years to Shellie (Potts) Hood; loving father to William Hood (McKenna Swartzwelder), Spencer Hood (Emily Ernst), and Mary (Ethan) Ramsey; a brother to Susan McCahan, Donna Barber, Linda (Mark) Clark, Karen (Tim) Troutman; brother-in-law to Sherri (Mark) Snider, Stacie (Keith) Diehl, Sharla (Adam) Talbert; son-in-law to Joy and Jerry Potts; and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews.
Bill was preceded in his passing by his parents, a brother James M. Hood, and brothers-in-law Steve McCahan and Randy Barber.
Bill was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1989. He was employed at United Rentals for over twenty-five years. He was a fixer, never finding a mechanical problem he couldn’t solve. This problem solving also was applied to vehicles, whether it was an old junk one or one of his kid's cars, he could fix it. Bill Hood was the definition of a family man. Everything he did was for others. He instilled in his children a sense of value, honesty, hard work, and patience. He carried a legacy of love and dedication that will be passed on through his family. He will be greatly missed.
