William “Bill” Logue went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital surrounded by his family. He was born October 7, 1956, the eldest son of the late Paul “Ham-bone” and Mary Lou (Imler) Logue. He was united in marriage to Donna (Shipley) Logue on October 20, 1978.
He was preceded in death by both parents and a sister, Deb (Logue) Moorhead. Along with his wife, he is survived by his two daughters, Amber (Logue) Ferrante and husband Vince and Taylor (Logue) Riley and husband Coty, three granddaughters, Kristanna Ferrante, Charlee Riley and Reagan Riley, mother-in-law Mary Shipley, siblings Teri (Logue) Williams and Robert Logue married to Cara and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Bill spent his childhood riding mini-bikes, hunting and attending car shows with his cousin and close friend Bill Feight. He and Bill liked to race cars in their teenage years and both shared a love of cars. They also shared an interest in new housing construction as Bill Feight liked to purchase and renovate houses.
He managed McConnellsburg Auto Supply in the 1980’s and eventually moved to Bedford County to manage their Bedford location, Turnpike Auto Supply, which he later purchased. He was a well-liked business owner among the community. He poured his heart and soul into the business, befriending his clients and earning the moniker “Turnpike Bill”. He was forced into retirement in 2001 due to illness, and sold the business.
After retirement, Bill loved spending his new-found free time with his family. He loved going on vacations to the beach and renting a boat to take out on the bay. He loved his granddaughters and spent a great deal of his retirement with them.
Anyone who knew Bill would tell about his easy-going personality and inability to meet a stranger. He was a kind hearted soul and an all-around family man who will be deeply missed by all.
