William Lee Taylor, 86, of Defiance, PA; passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. He was born on July 20, 1939 in Dudley, Pennsylvania; a son of the late Warren Hugh Dean Taylor and Margaretta Mae (Houck) Taylor. He was united in marriage to Carol (Barber) Taylor. She preceded him in death on March 21, 2009.
He is survived by two sons Travis and Brian Taylor; two step daughters LeaAnn Crooks and Jacqueline Coffman; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and one great great grandson; siblings Joy Brown, Karen Kersse and W. Mark Taylor married to Sandra.
He was preceded in death by siblings Dean Taylor and Stephen Taylor along with a brothers-in-law Daniel Brown and James Kersse.
Bill was a graduate of Saxton Liberty High School Class of 1957, he went on to serve in the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War from 1958-1962. He was a heavy equipment mechanic most of his career.
He enjoyed hunting, traveling and tinkering with cars.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, October 2, 2025 from 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton, PA 16678.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 2, 2025 at 12:00 Noon at the Akers Funeral Chapel with Pastor Alfred Chamberlain officiating.
Burial will be held privately at Duvall Cemetery.
