Warren Eugene “Gene” Ritchey, 94, of Raystown Road, Hopewell, PA; passed away on Wednesday, April 2, 2025. He was born on February 16, 1931 in Everett, PA; a son of the late James Warren and Bertha Blanche (Sparks) Ritchey. On July 15, 1955 in the Everett Church of the Brethren he was united in marriage to Lois Ann (Blair) Ritchey. She preceded him in death in June of 2000.
He is survived by three children Mary Kay Hall married to Richard, Hopewell, PA; Stephen Ritchey married to Susan, Great Falls, VA and John Ritchey married to Tracy, Manchester, NJ; eight grandchildren Alicia, Michael, Andy, Megan, Cori, Alex, Nick and Dominick; and eight great grandchildren.
In addition to Lois Ann he was preceded in death by a great grandson Noah Shaffer and siblings James “Vic” Ritchey, Faye Howser and Louise Zimmerman.
Gene was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1950. He served in the United States Air Force as an Airman First Class during the Korean War from 1951-1955.
Gene worked at the Everite Door as the director of purchasing for many years until his retirement.
He was a member of the Everett American Legion Post No. 08 and enjoyed taking his car rides around the county, meeting with the guys for breakfast, cooking and spending time with his family.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. at Bedford County Memorial Park. Full military honors by the Everett Area Honor Guard.
