Wanda "Kay" (Colledge) Conner

Wanda “Kay” Conner, 79, of Everett, PA; entered Heaven’s gates on July 21, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.  She was born on August 13, 1941 to the late Clyde and Janet (Foor) Colledge. On December 21, 1963, she married Gary L. “Gus” Conner at Ray’s Cove Christian Church. He preceded her in death on November 26, 2020.  They have a son Gary “Troy” Conner of Everett.

Along with their son, Kay is survived by daughter-in-law Angela (Price) Conner; grandchildren Garrett married to Larissa (Cessna) Conner and Jordan married to Alisha (Childers) Conner, all of Clearville, PA; great-grandchildren Dalton Shaw, Spencer Shaw, Bentlee Conner and Weston Conner; brothers Robert Colledge and wife Janet, Everett, PA and Gary Colledge of Everett, PA; and brother-in-law Michael Conner married to Sue, Everett, PA.

Along with her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Colledge.

In early years of her marriage, she worked at Jackson’s Motel and G.C. Murphy Co.  Then she dedicated her life to being a housewife and mother while selling Avon door to door.

She was a member of the Ray’s Cove Christian Church where she sang with the Shining Rays.  In recent years she attended Mountain Chapel Church of Breezewood.

Her favorite pastimes included shopping, reading her bible, fellowship with neighbors and spending time with her family.

Friends and family will be received on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 9:00 A.M. until the hour of service at 11:00 A.M. at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537. 

Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in The Chapel at Akers Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Ron Hott officiating.

In lieu of flowers the family asks her friends and loved ones to take the time to visit a friend, fellowship with a neighbor or share some time with someone in need.  Hebrews 13:16 And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifice God is pleased. Romans 12:13 Share with the Lord’s people who are in need. Practice hospitality.
