Wanda Lee Smith

Wanda Lee Smith, 93 of Artemas, PA; went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Friday, May 29, 2026.  She was born in Cumberland, MD on May 14, 1933, the daughter of the late Warren C. and Rhea V. (Potts) Smith.  She married Earl J. “Jim” Smith on October 27, 1951 in Cumberland, MD. He preceded her in death on November 29, 2010.    

She is survived by children Barbara Jean Owens, Carlisle, PA; James Lee Smith married to Deborah, Carlisle, PA; Daniel Eugene Smith married to Arlene, Breezewood, PA; Cathy Ann Smith, Waynesboro, PA; and Tammy J. Smith, Claysburg, PA; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter on the way.

She was preceded in death by a sister Donna Miller.

Wanda was a member of Bethel Christian Church and attended Fairview Christian Church. 

She was a rural postal carrier in Artemas for twelve years and in Little Orleans for eighteen years before retiring. 

Wanda Lee was an avid flower lover.  She is well known for her beautiful landscaping banks of daffodils and phlox. 

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, June 02, 2026 from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 and on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the church.

Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 03, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at Fairview Christian Church, Artemas, PA with Pastor Milton Morris officiating.

Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery.
