Verna M. (Ault) Sparks

Verna Mae Sparks, 98, of Donahoe Manor Nursing Home, Bedford, Pennsylvania went home to be with The Lord on Wednesday, November 25, 2020. She was born on April 21, 1922, in Manchester, OK; a daughter of the late Henry Christian and Lillian Stroudt (Ault) Green.

She is survived by children Rose Anne Shoemaker of Koloa, Hawaii; Dennis Sparks of Lancaster, PA; Carol Susan (Weydahl) Kammermeyer of Palmer, Alaska; Sandra King and husband Joseph of Bedford, PA; Sherron Hain and husband Mike of State College, PA; Lynetta Kauffman and husband Robert of Clearville, PA;  and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by husband, Montford Jabez Sparks on September 13, 1971; son Ned Sparks in 2017, sisters Helen Alexander and Dalice Rickabaugh; and brother James Ault.

Verna Mae worked as a rural mail carrier and then later retired from the maintenance department at Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was a member of the First Christian Church, Everett.

Family and Friends will be received at Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Rev. Robert R. Robertson officiating.

Burial at the Everett Cemetery, Everett, PA.
