V. "Marlene" (Ritchey) Corley

V. “Marlene” (Ritchey) Corley, 86, of Bedford, PA; went ahead to be with her Lord on Monday, June 24, 2024 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  She was born on April 1, 1938 in Everett, PA; a daughter of the late H. Earl and J. Velma (Fletcher) Ritchey.

She is survived by a daughter Velissa Peterson of Bedford, PA and her father Don Corley; a sister Julia Ann Browell, her beloved cat Cally Jo Jo and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and loved ones.

Marlene was preceded in death by five older brothers Francis, Donald, Austin, John and Willard Ritchey and infant siblings Melvin and Sara Jane.

She was a member of the Times Ministries Church in Bedford.

Marlene was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1956.

She worked as a secretary at Standard Register and later worked at McMillen and Company for several years.

She enjoyed gardening, eating out, working Sudoku puzzles, and traveling, especially her trips to Florida.

Family and friends may call at the Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road on Thursday, June 27, 2024 from 6-8 P.M. and on Friday from 1:00 P.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Dan Stultz  and Pastor Gary Boor officiating.
 
Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery.
