Thomas R. Watters

Thomas R. Watters, 89, of Everett, PA; passed away on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  He was born on July 16, 1936 in Everett, PA; a son of the late Roscoe and Clara L. (Simmons) Watters.  On April 15, 1960 in the Tatesville United Methodist Church, he was united in marriage to Ladonna (Clingerman) Watters. 

Along with his wife of sixty-five years, he is survived by two children Evan Watters and June married to Kenneth Wareham, grandchildren Ariel (Dylan) Fogg, Benjamin Watters, Kenneth Wareham, Jr. and Sidney Wareham and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a son Jacob Paul David Watters, siblings Jesse D. Watters, Shirley W. O’Reilly, Jeanne Defibaugh, Evelyn L. Robinson.

Tom was a graduate of Robert P. Smith High School Class of 1954.  Mr. Watters was a partner in Bedford County Oil Company for sixty-two years.

He was a member of the Everett Church of the Brethren, Everett Masonic Lodge F.&A.M. No. 524, Bedford Royal Arch Chapter No. 255, Mountain Council No. 9, Mountain Commandery No. 10, Chief Logan Forest Tall Cedars of Lebanon No. 131, Constans Conclave Red Cross of Constantine Valley of Altoona AASR, Bedford Springs Chapter of Eastern Star No. 41, Jaffa and Ali Ghan Shrine and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Gary Boor officiating.

Friends may call at Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Monday, August 11, 2025 from 4-8 P.M. and on Tuesday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.  Masonic and Eastern Star Services will be conducted sequentially at 7:30 P.M.

Burial will be held privately at the Everett Cemetery.
