Thomas J. Burke, 78, of Roaring Spring, PA went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 16, 2025.
Tom was born in Dudley, PA on September 3, 1946. He was the son of the Late Mary L. (Howells) and Cletus J. Burke; he was preceded in death by a brother, Cletus Burke, Jr.
He married Bonnie R. (Rinard) on September 18, 1965, at the Raven Run Church of the Brethren, Saxton, PA.
He is survived by his wife of Roaring Spring, PA, a daughter, Tracie M., and husband Darrin Whysong of Imler, PA; a son, Mark T. Burke and wife Judith D. of Danville, PA; a sister, Wanda G. Miller, and husband Mark of Saxton, PA; granddaughters Kierstin N. Whysong of Duncansville, PA and Payton A. and husband Morgan Deremer of Portage, PA; great-granddaughter, Kyrie Beck Fochtman of Duncansville, PA; and great-grandson, Adley Deremer of Portage, PA.
Tom was born and raised in Dudley, PA, and was a 1964 Tussey Mountain High School graduate. He attended many technical schools around the eastern US. He was employed at Owens Corning in Huntingdon, PA, he was an Electrical Instructor at the Huntingdon County Vo-Technical School and he retired from Blank Book Corporation as Safety Manager. He and his wife also owned and operated their own plumbing and electrical business for many years.
He loved being outdoors, having family picnics and dinners, traveling, and camping.
Tom was a member of the Raven Run Church of the Brethren and he attended the Clover Creek Church of the Brethren, bible study group, and a choir member in past years. He taught a bible study class for many years at the Graystone in Roaring Spring.
A private service will be held with Pastor Barb Hammond officiating.
Burial will be held privately at Bunker Hill Cemetery.
