Tamara R. Frye

Tamara R. Frye, 46, passed away at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. She was born on April 20, 1978 in Bedford, PA; daughter of Paul and Mary (Swope) Edwards.  

She is survived by her daughters Rachel Long married to Dustin, Martinsburg, PA, Natalie Frye of Saxton, PA, and Michaela Frye of Everett, PA; grandson, Kamdyn Long and siblings Bindy Hembree married to Danny, Scott Edwards married to Susan, Christina Steele and Paula Ridenour married to Jason.

Tamara graduated from Tussey Mountain High School, class of 1996.  She was employed over the years at Bittner Vending, Seton Manufacturing and most recently at Cove Forge/Illera Healthcare.

Tamara was loved by all who met her. She brought joy and laughter into people's lives. She loved spending time with family and friends; her family meant the world to her. She always said how precious time was, and was always capturing memories through videos and pictures. Though she was not the best at it, she enjoyed capturing every moment in her life. Tamara always loved to try and look her best whether it was getting pampered or having a spa day. She especially loved getting her nails done, by her Natalie Rose. Tamara loved being there for her family. Whether it was attending sporting events or simply lending a helping hand. She enjoyed watching her girls perform on the football field and cheering. She was so proud of her girls, and her grandson. They were all she talked about. She always wanted to make what all she was going through easier for those who meant so much to her. She’d do day trips after appointments at the doctors with her girls. Tamara loved her siblings very much and loved goofing off with them by making funny videos on Snapchat. She was so close to her parents, especially her father. She was a “daddy’s girl,” she was his little sidekick and stood by him no matter what. She did everything in her power to help her parents out and be there for them. Tamara had a dog named Trixie, she loved her so much. Trixie was always beside her and protected her. Tamara was a free spirit who enjoyed traveling, creating adventures, and trying new things.  Although she did not have much, she made the best of her life and never gave up. She never let her illness take over her life, even when she was having her bad days she kept going with a beautiful smile on her face and joy in her heart. She fought so hard in her journey and stayed strong till the very end. She never wanted her passing to be full of sadness and sorrow, but rather to be celebrated with joy and love. Tamara Ruth is in a better place, a place with no pain, stress, and suffering. She is at peace with the rest of her family and loved ones in the skies. 

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 6, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton, PA  16678 with Pastor Jonathan Kisner and Pastor Jenn Kisner Officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Matt Baker Cancer Fund.
