Susan J. (Warsing) Weist

Susan J. Weist, 76, of East Graceville Road, Everett, PA; passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2024 at home.  She was born on February 11, 1948 in Hopewell, PA: a daughter of the late John Warsing Sr. and Pearl (Brantner) Warsing.  On December 5, 1964 in Breezewood, PA; she was united in marriage to Sebert C. Weist, Sr.

Along with her husband she is survived by two sons: Stacy D. Weist married to Leann, Hopewell, PA, Steven L. Weist, Everett, PA and daughter-in-law Crystal Weist, Everett, PA;  six grandchildren Arthur, David, Violet, Carla, Cole and Chad and eight great grandchildren Alivia, Carter, Blake, Briar, Brindley, Boone, Justin and Oliver; siblings Patricia Stallings, Alice Georgine O’Brien married to David, Martha Hall, Mildred Weaver married to Donald, John Warsing, Jr. married to Harriet, Lyda Taylor, Julia Layman married to Robert and Margaret “Peg” Teeters.

She was preceded in death by a son Sebert Carl Weist, Jr. and a sister Elsie Garlock and brother Danny Warsing.

Susan was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Breezewood where over the years the helped with the youth.

Mrs. Weist spent most of her career in the restaurant industry, working various places and spent the last five years of career working for the Everett Area School District until retirement.  She owned and operated Rays Cove Greenhouse for a number of years.

She enjoyed trips to the ocean and the years with her children and doing their 4-H programs.

Friends and Family will be received on Thursday, July 25, 2024 in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA from 2:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at 3:00 P.M. with Reverend Judith Simonson officiating. 

Burial will be held privately at Graceville Cemetery.
