Shirley “Jean” Smith, 88, of Everett, PA; passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Conemaugh at Nason Hospital, Roaring Spring, PA. She was born on August 5, 1933 in Roaring Spring, PA; a daughter of the late William Clarence and Anna Elizabeth (Robinson) Weyant. On December 23, 1954 in Cumberland, MD; she was united in marriage to Kenneth E.J. “Pete” Smith. He preceded her in death on March 3, 1994.
She is survived by two children James A. Smith married to Linda, Breezewood and Cindy L. Dohoda married to Dave, Schellsburg; three granddaughters Beckie Fetters, Tracey Thomas and Patricia Hale; seven great grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; siblings Charles C. Weyant, Robert P. Weyant, Beverly S. Sikora and Sharon M. Patterson.
She was preceded in death by siblings Gloria Ford, William G. Weyant, Janet Campbell, infant brother W. John Weyant, and infant granddaughter.
Previously she worked at Binghams Milkshake Inn, Bedford and later at Lions Manufacturing until its closing.
In her younger years she enjoyed tending to a large garden and loved canning everything she could possibly can. She read her Bible several times through. Jean knew Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
Jean was a member of the Everett Church of God, and enjoyed making Easter eggs for the annual fundraiser.
She will be greatly missed by her family.
Private Services will be held in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Rev. William Kisner officiating.
Burial will be held privately at Clearville Union Cemetery.
