Shirley A. (Walters) Markle

Shirley A. Markle, 86, of Everett, PA, entered her heavenly home on March 16, 2026, surrounded by the love she so freely gave throughout her life.

Born on November 13, 1939, in Crystal Spring, PA, she was the cherished daughter of the late Paul E. Walters Sr. and Mabel (Koontz) Walters.

Shirley’s life was a beautiful reflection of devotion to her family. She is lovingly remembered by her daughters, Debbie Murdock and Tammy Smyers, wife of Scott; her grandchildren, Joey Murdock, husband of Morgan; Justin Markle, Chasity Markle; Lani Miller, wife of Tyler, Kyra Smith, wife of Kevin, Scotty Smyers and partner Christine Chalmers, Jaya Smyers, and Rason Smyers; and her treasured great-grandchildren, Rylan Murdock; Elora Markle, Dominic Markle; Kaylin Abbott, Liam Weimert, Bryson Weimert, Gannon Weimert, and Brinley Damiano; Audrey Miller and Leland Smith. She is also survived by her siblings, Paul E. Walters, Jr., Ross Walters, and Janet Feight; her sister-in-law, Patty Walters; and many beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Terry Markle; her son-in-law, Joe Murdock; her brother, Robert Walters; her brother-in-law, Eugene C. Feight; and her sister-in-law, Lois Walters.

Shirley was a graduate of Southern Fulton High School, Class of 1957.  She was an attendee of Everett United Methodist Church. She dedicated many years to serving others, most notably as a waitress at Family House Restaurant and later as a cook at the Everett United Methodist Church Children’s Center.

Shirley found joy in life’s simple blessings; shopping trips, preparing meals for those she loved, and making sure each family member felt cared for in their own special way. She enjoyed working word searches, watching her favorite soap operas, and sharing thoughtful treats that always brought a smile.

She was the most giving and caring mom and nan, her love will live on in all of us.
