Shirley G. (Hooper) Snyder

Shirley Gail Snyder, 91, of Martinsburg, PA, formerly of Saxton, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025 at Homewood at Martinsburg in Martinsburg, PA.  Shirley was born on October 25, 1933, a daughter to the late Elmer C. and Blanche (Reed) Hooper.  On July 24, 1950 in Townsend, Maryland; she was united in marriage to James W. Snyder.   He preceded her in death on April 1, 2022.  

She is survived by four children James Snyder, Saxton, PA; John Snyder married to Betty, Saxton, PA; Dotti Elder, Saxton, PA; and Jean DeLuca, Broad Top, PA; She was blessed to have six grandchildren: Patrick Snyder married to Betsy, Erin Snyder, Spencer Elder married to Cheyenne, Margo Elder and Jordan DeLuca and fiancé Kristen Barber, Rylan DeLuca fiancé Rosa Scavone.  There are also five great grandchildren: Matthew Parks, Alex Snyder, Alexis Elder, Taven Elder and Alessio DeLuca. 

She was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law Ann Snyder and son-in-law Charles DeLuca; siblings Thelma Hooper, Donna Hooper, Harold “Max” Hooper, Paul Hooper, Doris Ralph, Jean Yeamans, Dorothy Hooper, and two infant brothers.

Shirley was a member of Six Mile Run Church of God.  She was a member of the Saxton Chapter Order of Eastern Star.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and participating in church activities. 

Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family with burial at Fockler Cemetery.
