Shirley Creps Obituary

Shirley A. Creps, 84, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter and caretaker, Brenda of Hyndman, PA on Sunday, September 29, 2024.  She previously resided on Industrial Blvd., Bedford, PA.  She was born on February 27, 1940 in Everett, PA; a daughter of the late J. Ralph and Anna E. (Hott) Miller.  Shirley was the last surviving member of her immediate family.  In Winchester, Virginia on August 05, 1961, she was united in marriage to David Creps, Jr.  He preceded her in death on January 20, 2020.

She is survived by children Lisa Ritchey married to George, Brenda Eberle married to Vince, and Tracey Earley (Rob) and also the stepmother of Connie Lou Rush married to Junior and family, David Wayne Creps married to Pam and family, and Kathy Leonard married to David whom is a very special part of her family, 10 grandchildren, Wendy Hoover (Ash) Alicia Frazier married to Merle, Jennifer Steele married to Adam, Kara Buckwalter married to Dustin, Nicole Hershman married to Chad, Dustin Hershman (Jenny), Travis Hershman, Tyler Earley married to Torry, Nathan Earley married to Abby, and Austin Earley; 17 great grandchildren: Marissa, Isaac, Alivia, Ashton, Layla, Luke, Dylan (Amber), Trent, Caden, Noah, Hannah, Carter and Aubrey; four great-grandchildren, Teagan, Tobias, Colt and Adalynn; one great-great-granddaughter Ava; sister in laws, Mariam Howsare married to Tom, Joretta Creps, Linda Hartsock, Eileen Davis married to Charlie; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a great grandson Andrew Frazier; brothers Rev. Eugene Miller married to Sara, and William Miller; brother-in-law Rudy Creps, sister-in-law Delores Buterbaugh married to Larry.

Mrs. Creps was a member of the Bethel Church of the Brethren.

Shirley worked at the Coffee Shop, managed Dollar General, Picway Shoes and Wal-Mart until her retirement.

She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, and watching game shows and loved going to the beach.  But more than anything, she loved her family coming to visit, play games, family meals, picnics and spending time together.  Mom/Gram you are missed already and are forever loved and we are so thankful for all of the love and memories you have given all of us to hold onto until we meet again.

The family would like to send a special thank you to all the staff at U.S. Renal, UPMC home health care and UPMC hospice nurses and aides for all of the love and care you gave to mom.

Family and Friends will be received at the Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA on Thursday, October 03, 2024 from 10:00 – 11:00 A.M.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, October 03, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with the Pastor Russell Hoffman officiating.

Burial will be held at Bethel Cemetery.
