Shirley A. Bussard, 80, of Crestview Road, Breezewood, PA; passed away on Friday, January 13, 2023 at UPMC at Altoona, PA.

She was born on November 29, 1942 in Clearville, PA; a daughter of the late Ivan W. Sr. and Pauline (Smith) Mearkle. She was united in marriage to Thomas Bussard on November 27, 1959 in Winchester VA.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by children David E. Bussard, Menchtown, PA, Greg D. Bussard, Breezewood, Scott T. Bussard married to Sandra D. (McKnight) Snow Shoe and Shana R. Bussard, Breezewood; siblings Kenneth L. Mearkle married to Leigia (Galanenes), San Juan, Puerto Rico; L. Carol Clark, Clearville, Betty L. married to Victor Clark, Menchtown, and Ivan W. Mearkle Jr. married to Carol A. (Black), Clearville, eleven grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.

Shirley was a homemaker and worked numerous professions in support of her family. She assisted on the family dairy farm, worked at Lions Manufacturing, and was a crew member at McDonald’s in Breezewood, PA well past retirement age.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She will be missed.
