Sheldon Larry Horton

Sheldon Larry Horton, 79, of Saxton formerly of Florida, passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  He was born on April 16, 1943 in Puttstown, PA; a son of the late Sheldon Faus and Elsie Ruth (Black) Horton.

He is survived by two children Donna Lorene Schwaninger, Clear Water, FL and Sheldon Larry Horton, Jr., Las Vegas, NV; a sister Donna J. Wambaugh; seven grandchildren and four nieces.

He was preceded in death by a brother George Benjamin Horton.

He was a 1960 graduate of Tussey Mountain High School and earned a bachelors from Penn State University.   Larry went on to serve in the United States Air Force.  He often flew over Saxton in the military aircraft.

Throughout his career he was employed at Ford Motor company and Chrysler.  He moved to Florida in 1984.

He was affiliated with the Saxton United Methodist Church.  Larry enjoyed flying, boating and spending time with his grandchildren.

Private Burial will be held in the Broad Top I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
