Sebert C. Weist, Sr.

Sebert C. Weist, Sr., 81, of East Graceville Road, Everett, PA; passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2026 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  He was born on July 27, 1944 in Graceville, PA; a son of the late Lloyd D. and Violet M. (Foor) Weist.  On December 5, 1964 in Breezewood, PA; he was united in marriage to Susan J. (Warsing) Weist.  She preceded him in death on July 21, 2024.

He is survived by two sons Stacy D. Weist married to Leann, Hopewell, PA; Steven L. Weist, Everett, PA and daughter-in-law Crystal Weist, Everett, PA; six grandchildren Arthur, David, Violet, Carla, Cole and Chad; eight great grandchildren Olivia, Carter, Blake, Briar, Brindley, Boone, Justin and Oliver; siblings Shirley Hedges, Mary Blackstone married to John, Dwight Weist and Larry Weist married to Debra.

He was preceded in death by a son Sebert Carl Weist, Jr.

Sebert was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Breezewood and in years past helped with the youth.

He worked as a heavy equipment operator for thirty eight years for New Enterprise Stone and Lime Company until his retirement in 2002.

Sebert enjoyed hunting, fishing, competitive benchrest shooting, attending grandchildren’s events and gardening/green housing with his wife Susan.

Friends and family will be received on Thursday, April 16, 2026 from 2:00 P.M. – 3:00 P.M. at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537.

A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 16, 2026 at 3:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Rev. Judith Simonson officiating.

Burial will be held privately at Graceville Cemetery.

If in lieu of flowers friends so desire memorial contributions may be made in memory of Sebert to the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 1, Breezewood, PA  15533.
