Scott A. Harper

Scott A. Harper, 42, of Raystown Road, Everett, PA; passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at home.  He was born on October 17, 1979 in Tyrone, PA; a son of Rodney and Debra (Beatty) Harper.  On August 20, 2005 in the Northwood Baptist Church in Tyrone, PA he was united in marriage to the former Samantha Hockenbury.

Along with his parents and wife he is survived by children Ryan S. Harper and Megan K. Harper; sister Tracey Davis married to Justin, Martinsburg, PA; father and mother-in-law Ray and Diane Hockenbury; sister-in-law Stacy Cottle married to Jake; special aunts Cynthia and Susan Harper and many other aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Donald and Shirley Beatty and paternal grandparents Richard and Patricia Harper.

Scott was employed at REI Distribution Center. He attended church at the Waterside Church of the Brethren and enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting and spending time with his family, especially his kids.  He loved working with his hands and was known to be able to build and fix almost anything. 

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, June, 29, 2022 at Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at 12:00 Noon.

A Celebration of Scott’s Life will be held on Wednesday, June 29, 2022 at 12:00 Noon in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home, Inc. with Pastor Mike Benner and Pastor Eric Poteat officiating.

If friends so desire memorial contributions may be made in memory of Scott to Akers Funeral Home to help pay for final expenses.
