Sara Jane Felton, 72 of Everett passed away on Monday, March 02, 2026 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born May 29, 1953 at Bedford Memorial Hospital. She was the daughter of Richard and Dorothy Felton who preceded her in death.
Sara is survived by a daughter Amy Guelich, and two granddaughters Emily and Natalie Guelich, a brother Mark Felton, and her loving companion Dan Henderson.
Sara has two nephews: Adam (Jenna Clark) Felton and their children Wyatt, Austin, Brooks, and Cooper, and David (Sarah Eley) Felton and their children Grover and Madeline Felton.
Sara was a 1971 graduate of Everett High School. She attended Pennsylvania State University and Hagerstown Community College receiving her accounting degree. She was employed by Hometown Bank where she served as the Chief Financial Officer since it’s inception, until her retirement in 2022 and was also employed by the First National Bank of Everett for many years. She was proud to be part of the local bank industry. She enjoyed working with her fellow bank employees and was respected by many bank clients.
Sara and Dan loved keeping her house in outstanding condition and spent relentless hours together landscaping her property in tip top shape.
Sara attended the Everett Church of the Brethren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 06, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at the Everett Church of the Brethren, 199 East Second Street, Everett, PA 15537, with Pastor Mike Benner officiating.
Burial to follow at the Everett Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Sara to the Bedford County Humane Society, 182 Bohn Road, Bedford, PA 15522 or Bedford County Pink Ribbon Fund, 148 Serenity Circle, Bedford, PA 15522.
