Sara Jane Steach, 91, of Waterfall Road, Three Springs, Pennsylvania; passed away on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at home. She was born on August 18, 1932 in Everett, PA; a daughter of the late Jason Martin and Mabel Inez (Duvall) Barkman. On February 28, 1952 she was united in marriage to Edwin L. “Eddie” Steach. He preceded her in death on June 20, 2013.
She is survived by three children Debra Rhodes, Williamsburg, PA; Frederick L. Steach Sr., Three Springs, PA; Martin “Marty” L. Steach married to Sandy (Calhoun), Saxton, PA; granddaughters Karen Steach, San Jose, CA; Holly Nash, Elizabethtown, PA and
Melissa Steach, GA; two step grandchildren Jesse Hawk, Kill Devil Hills, NC and Jenny Hawk married to Robby Pedersen, Manns Harbor, NC; two great grandsons Caden Ratliff and Jackson Nash; and two step great grandchildren Captain and Harvey Pedersen.
She was preceded in death by two grandsons: Frederick Steach Jr. and Steven Rhodes; son-in-law: John C. Rhodes, Jr. and daughter-in-law Amanda Steach.
Mrs. Steach was affiliated with the Zion Methodist Church in Waterfall.
She and her husband owned and operated their dairy farm “Anastasis Farm”, until retirement.
She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, mowing her lawn, watching the birds and butterflies around her home. Sara Jane enjoyed cooking for her family and laughter.
Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Biter officiating.
Friends may call at Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Saturday, August 10, 2024 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home.
Burial will be held in Akersville Methodist Cemetery.
