Samuel L. Kurtz

Samuel L. Kurtz, 72, of Everett, PA; passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024.  He was born on October 10, 1952 in Mifflin, PA; a son of the late John William and Norma Arlene (Rodgers) Kurtz.  On June 19, 1982 in Alexandria, PA; he was united in marriage to Linda A. (Woods) Kurtz.  She preceded him in death on March 16, 2017. 

He is survived by son Travis Kurtz; step children Bob Fisher and Brian Fisher, special friend and former daughter-in-law Salina Reese; and numerous step grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a step-son Bill Fisher and a brother Roger E. Kurtz.

Sam was a graduate of Mt. Union High School Class of 1971.  He worked at Gateway Travel Plaza for thirty years in maintenance.

He played in the local pool league for the Everett V.F.W. team.  In his younger years he coached Everett Little League and played softball.  Sam enjoyed hanging out at Sheetz with the guys solving the world’s problems.

He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Bedford.

A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

Burial will be held privately at Bedford County Memorial Park.
