Sally Jean (McMurtrie) Horton

Sally Jean (McMurtrie) Horton, 86, of Raven Run Road, Saxton, PA; passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025.  She was born on February 11, 1939 in Saxton, PA; a daughter of the late Samuel and Margaret “Peggy” (Williams) McMurtrie.  On December 31, 1958 in Cumberland, MD; she was united in marriage to Ronald C. Horton.

Along with her husband she is survived by children Kimberly Keith married to Dan, of Saxton, PA; Ronny Lynn Beacher, married to Barry, of Woodlands, TX and Scott H. Horton, of Falls Church, VA , four grandchildren Kylee Ritchey married to Mike; J.D. Keith married to Brittney; Samantha Babin married to Stephen; Derek Beacher married to Ashlyn; five great grandchildren Chloe Ritchey, Michael Ritchey, Archer Keith, Leia Coy and Lyneia Coy; a sister Maureen Light.

She was preceded in death by a grandson Jacob Ronald Glenn Keith, a brother David McMurtrie and his wife Betty and a brother-in-law William E. Light. 

Sally was a graduate of Saxton Liberty Class of 1958, where she participated in the marching band and chorus.  She was a past member of the Saxton Methodist Church and attended Safe Harbor Church.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother.  Sally loved being with her family.
