Ruth Virginia (Snyder) Mallow

Ruth Virginia Mallow, 87, of Clearville, PA; passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2021 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  She was born on July 6, 1934 in Clearville, PA; a daughter of the late Russell W. and Elva M. (Clark) Snyder.  On July 9, 1954 in Flintstone, MD; she was united in marriage to Cleo “Red” Mallow.  He preceded her in death on May 28, 2007.

She is survived by children Brenda K. Johnson married to Ralph “Buck” Johnson, Clearville, PA and Michael W. Mallow, Clearville, PA; grandchildren Bradley Johnson married to Lauryn (Drenning), Kelsie Johnson married to Tim Morris, Preston Mallow, Ethan Mallow, Angelica Mallow, Brent Mallow, Desire Mallow, Taliah Mallow; great grandchildren Gia, Jase, Willow, Kayson, Aiden and Isabelle; siblings Leota Mills married to Robert, Greencastle, PA; Iva Jean married to John Price, Everett, brothers-in-law Ellis Klahre and Eldon Mills.

She was preceded in death by siblings Marjorie Klahre, Audrey Mills, John W. Snyder and late wife Alma, Palmer Snyder and late wife Arlene and Melda Castang and late husband Paul.

Ruth was a member of the Pleasant Union Church, where she was active in the ladies aid.

She enjoyed canning, gardening, sewing and visiting with friends and family at homes and also her many phone conversations.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 27, 2021 in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M. with Lay speaker Gary Collins and Pastor Lyle Mellott officiating.

Friends and Family will be received on Monday, December 27, 2021 at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 from 12:00 Noon until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Burial will be held at Clearville Union Cemetery, Clearville.

The family would like to give a special thanks to neighbors that acted as her angels, Donnie Bennett, Danny and Charlene Bennett, Annabelle Zimmerman, Shirley Nycum and Mel Harris.
