Ruth Dively of Everett passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 2nd, 2025. She was 98 years old.
Ruth is preceded in death by her parents, Grace and Harper Dively, as well as her sister Elaine. She is survived by her longtime companion Larry (Sam) Clark, as well as her sister Phyllis, and her brother Marlin. Ruth did not have any children of her own, but was surrounded by loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Ruth grew up on her family’s farm in Bedford Pennsylvania. It was there that she developed her life-long love of animals. She worked for many years as a clerk at the Quality Inn in Bedford. She retired to Everett, Pennsylvania with Sam. She enjoyed bird watching, walking her beloved dogs, being in nature, and eating out. Ruth was a well-known regular in many local restaurants, where she enjoyed socializing and eating.
Ruth requested no funeral service. If anyone would like to honor her life, a donation to the Bedford County Humane Society would be a wonderful way to do so. Ruth loved all animals, and especially dogs. Her most recent canine companion, Anna, was adopted from there.
Arrangements by Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537.
