Rudy Creps Obituary

Rudy Lloyd Creps, 81, of Everett, peacefully went home to be with his Savior after a long and courageous battle on November 6,  2020.  He was born on October 24, 1939 in Imlertown; a son of the late David M. and S. Virginia (Dibert) Creps.  On December 28, 1963 in Bedford, he was united in marriage to Joretta (Whitehead) Creps.  This December they would have celebrated fifty-seven years of marriage.

Along with his wife, he is survived by sons James “Curt” married to Missie (Burket), New Paris, Troy married to Denette (Akers), Everett and daughter Tammy (Creps) married to Larry College, Everett; six grandchildren Shawnee (Creps) married to Todd Rice, Kelly (Hinson) married to Jessie Lohr, Ginny (College) married to Devin Whitfield, Carissa College, Carina Haines and Nathanael O’Rourke; sisters Miriam (Creps) married to Thomas Howsare, Linda (Creps) Hartsock and Eileen (Creps) married to Charles Davis; sisters-in-law Shirley (Miller) Creps and Deborah (Ritchey) married to Jeff Rathmel.

He was preceded in death by brother David Creps Jr., sister Dolores (Creps) Buterbaugh and her husband Larry.

He graduated from Bedford High School Class of 1957.  In 1963 he was drafted into the United States Army where he served until 1969.  After being honorably discharged he farmed and later was hired as a pressman at Standard Register where he worked twenty-eight years.  He later worked as a custodian at the Bedford Elks and Chestnut Ridge School District.

He enjoyed animals, hunting, being outdoors, visiting car lots especially Dodge/Chrysler Dealerships.  He liked watching and listening to baseball, with his favorite team being the St. Louis Cardinals.  But most of all he enjoyed helping to raise and spend time with his grandchildren.  He will be greatly missed.
