Roy A. Foor, 91, of Everett, PA; passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at home. He was born on September 10, 1932 in Everett, PA; a son of the late Lawrence C. and Phyliss E. (Hall) Foor. On March 27, 1953 in Pine Grove United Methodist Church in Wells Tannery, PA; he married Beverly A. (Bolinger) Foor. She preceded him in death on February 1, 2013.
He is survived by four daughters Debra married to Gene Decker, Everett, PA; Diane married to Dan Rzecznik, New Castle, PA; Denise married to Eric Barkman, Clearville, PA and Dena married to Bob Harter, Lemont, PA; grandchildren Meghann Campbell, Michelle Decker, Danielle Foy, Ryan Decker, David Foy, Kyle Buterbaugh, Nathaniel Foor, Justin Barkman, Rebecca Leader, Drew Barkman, Matt Harter, Buster Rzecznik, Danna Rzecznik and Suzie Rzecznik; great grandchildren Anna Campbell, Tyler Barkman, Keira Leader, Paige Barkman, Eva Leader; Sylvia Foy, Vander Barkman, Aurora Harter, Kennedi Buterbaugh, Annie Harter, Hallie Buterbaugh, Lleyton Buterbaugh; two sisters Harriet Jeanne Ritchey and Charlotte Burns and a special sister-in-law Connie Foor-Childers.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Lawrence H. Foor.
He was a member of the Everett United Methodist Church. Roy served as a lay minister within the UCC denomination from 1972 - 2019.
Mr. Foor was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1950 and a graduate of Susquehanna University, Class of 1954, earning his B.S. in Business. He served in the United States Naval Reserve LTJG from 1954-1962. During his time of active duty, he served as Communications Watch Officer, National Security Agency, Washington, D.C. under CO, Naval Security Station.
During his career, he worked and became part owner of the family lumber business, Everett Hardwood Lumber Company. Later, he became owner of J.B.& R. Construction from 1984 until retirement.
Roy served as the Everett Cemetery Superintendent from 1999 to 2017. He was a member of the Everett Masonic Lodge F. & A.M. No. 524 and a former member of the Everett Lions Club, Charter member of the Everett Jaycees and previously served on the Everett Recreational Board.
Burial will be held privately at Everett Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life Service for Roy A. Foor will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 1:00 P.M. at the Everett United Methodist Church with visitation from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.
If friends so desire memorial contributions may be made in memory of Roy to the Everett Free Library or the Everett Food Bank.
