Rosa Scavone

Rosa Scavone, 81, of Saxton, PA passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 at home surrounded by family to be with the Lord. 

She was born on June 13, 1943 in Carini, Sicily in Italy, a daughter to the late Maria Gallina and Giovanni Finazzo.

On November 18, 1961, she married the love of her life Giuseppe Scavone.  They were married for 63 years and were blessed with four children, Rosa Amato married to Giuseppe Amato of Woodbury, PA; Maria Amato married to Giovanni Amato of Bethel, PA; Giovanni Scavone married to Loredana Scavone of Saxton, PA. She was grandmother “Nonna” to twenty-five grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Antonio Scavone.

She had an involvement with the Immaculate Conception Church in Dudley, PA.  She loved cooking, gardening, crocheting, visiting Italy in the summer and spending time with her family.  She will be deeply missed by family and friends and all who knew her.

Friends and family will be received on Monday, October 21, 2024 at Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton, PA 16678 from 9:00 A.M. until time of departure at 10:30 A.M. to the church.

Funeral Mass will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Dudley, PA on Monday, October 21, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. with Father Mark Reid officiating.

Burial will be held at Alto-Reste Park in Altoona, PA.
