Roger Edwin Foor

Roger Edwin Foor, 86, of West 6th Avenue, Everett, PA; passed away on Friday, May 19, 2023 at home surrounded by family.  He was born on February 19, 1937 in Everett, PA; a son of the late Emory and Virginia (Gorsuch) Foor.  On June 9, 1957 at the First Christian Church, he was united in marriage to Juanita (Riley) Foor.

Along with his wife of sixty five years, he is survived by son, Lynn Foor and wife, Catherine, Aaronsburg, PA and daughter, Kelly Foor, Catonsville, MD; five grandchildren, Casey Brown and husband, Corey, Spring Mills, PA; Andrew Foor and wife, Donelle, Spring Mills, PA; Kendra Maney and husband, Mark, Spring Mills, PA; Rande Pittman and fiancé, Tom Spork, Newton, NJ; and Chris Pittman and girlfriend, Allison Eisenhower, Brandywine, MD.; five great grandchildren; and sibling, Nancy Foor and partner, Marvin Snyder, Everett, PA.

He was preceded in death by, son Barry Foor; siblings, Lloyd Foor and Howard Foor. 

Roger was a graduate of Everett High School Class of 1955. He was of the protestant faith.

Mr. Foor was an over the road truck driver for 42 years. His lifetime career included multiple mile-stone awards and achievements. He took great pride in keeping his trucks spotless. 

Over the years, Roger enjoyed the beach, camping, traveling, golfing, and in later years, competing in Senior Games.  He also loved to reminisce and laugh with his lifelong trucking friends. 

Friends and Family will be received on Thursday, May 25, 2023 from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. and on Friday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, May 26, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Benner officiating.

Burial will be held at the Everett Cemetery.

Roger’s family would like to thank the nurses, aides, social worker, and pastor at Gentiva Hospice. And a special thank you to his caregiver, Shanon Sheeder, who brought a laugh and smile to his face every day. He loved his “8 o’clock” buddy.
