Rock W. Manges, 69, of New Enterprise, PA, passed away on Friday, April 24, 2026 at home surrounded by family. He was born on January 4, 1957 in Roaring Spring, PA; a son of Donna J. (Melius) Manges of New Enterprise and the late James W. Manges. On July 28, 1979 at the Everett Church of the Brethren, he was united in marriage to Carla (Morgret) Manges.
In addition to his mother and wife, he is survived by two children: Nathaniel Manges and his wife, Erika (Capo), of Leechburg, PA; and Staci Brockus and her husband, Casey, of New Enterprise, PA. He was lovingly known as “Pap” to his grandchildren: Keira and Owen Manges, and Hadassah, Adaya, Gabriel, Kaiyah, and Micah Brockus. He is also survived by one brother, Wayne Manges of Florida.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Manges.
Rock was a 1974 graduate of Northern Bedford County High School. He earned an associate degree from Pennsylvania State University and a Bachelor of Science degree from Geneva College. He also received his director’s certificate for vocational-technical education.
He served as the Building Construction teacher and was the director of Co-Op at the Bedford County Technical Center for 36 years, retiring in 2023. Rock was a devoted member of Snake Spring Valley Church of the Brethren, where he was deeply involved in many roles, including Deacon, Church Board chair, Sunday School teacher, and choir member. He also served the Middle District of Pennsylvania as a moderator.
He was a member of the Blair County Builders Association and SkillsUSA. Rock enjoyed making memories with his grandkids, hunting, camping, fishing, gardening, and following college football, especially Penn State.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at the Snake Spring Valley Church of the Brethren from 4-7 P.M. and on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at the Snake Spring Valley Church of the Brethren with Pastor David Grimes officiating.
Burial will be held privately.
