Robert "Hunk" W. Snyder

Robert W. “Hunk” Snyder, 68, of Pepple Road, Everett, PA; passed away on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at UPMC Bedford Memorial Hospital.  He was born on April 10, 1955 in Everett, PA; a son of the late Edgar James and Ruth Mildred (Calhoun) Snyder.  On May 23, 1981 in Stevens Chapel United Methodist Church, he was united in marriage to Marcia K. (Vinson) Snyder.  She preceded him in death on May 6, 2019. 

He is survived by sons Dustin W. Snyder, Everett, PA and Charlie P. Snyder and fiancé Sam Stevens of Everett; grandchildren Ava R. Snyder and significant other Lane Wagoner and Gabe O. Snyder; an expected first great grandson and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by siblings Johnny Snyder, Paul Snyder, Linda Treece, Charlie Snyder and Edger Snyder, Jr.

He was a member of Stevens Chapel United Methodist Church.  Hunk worked for the Pepple family on the farm from 1972 and also drove school bus for the Everett Area School District since the 1980’s to current.

Mr. Snyder was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1974.

He loved farming, hunting, and driving school bus. He had a great sense of humor, enjoyed picking on others, being around people, his trips to get ice cream and Friday nights at Mike’s Place. 

Family and friends may call at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett on Wednesday, March 27, 2024 from 4-8 P.M. and on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor C. J. Bowser officiating.

Burial will be held at Steven’s Chapel Cemetery.
