Robert William Black, 81, of Church Street, Saxton, PA; passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, April 24, 2025. He was born on May 31, 1943 in Defiance, PA; a son of the late Woodrow Wilson and Mary (Lover) Black. On August 12, 1967 in the Immaculate Conception Church, Dudley; he was united in marriage to Christie Ann (Stoler) Black.
Along with his wife, he is survived by three sons Robert Gregory Black, Ft. Lauderdale, FL; David Christopher Black, Saxton and Jonathan Patrick Black, James Creek; six grandchildren Mason Black, Shenille Black, Ashlyn Black, Jonathan Black, Jr., Ian Mitchell and Paiton Black; four great grandchildren Luca Black, Theo Mitchell, Rocco Black and Cameron Mitchell; siblings Michael Black married to Kathy, Mary Rose DuBetz, Theresa Imler married to Glenn, Carol Mearkle married to Ivan and Susan Dixon married to Jack.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother-in-law Tom DuBetz.
Robert was a graduate of Tussey Mountain High School, Class of 1961 and went on to serve in the United States Air Force for four years until being honorably discharged.
He was president and founder of Tri-County Petroleum in Defiance for over twenty years until his retirement. He loved golfing, traveling, spending time at the beach and being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Private Mass will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church in Dudley with burial at Ave Maria Catholic Cemetery.
