Richard "Rick" Calhoun

Richard “Rick” Calhoun, 61 of Bedford, passed away on November 13, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife, family and his faithful dog Pebbles.  

Rick was born on June 9th, 1964, in Everett, PA, the son of Skyles Calhoun and the late Carol Calhoun.  

He was the beloved husband, best friend, and adventure seeking partner of Stephanie Calhoun, with whom he shared 37 wonderful years of marriage. 

Rick's greatest joy was his family. He was a devoted and loving father to his two sons, Kristopher and wife Sarah (Lashley) Calhoun of Bedford and Stephen and wife Breanna (Lang) Calhoun of Bedford. Rick's youthful spirit and looks caused many to often mistake him and his sons for brothers which caused much laughter between them all. His boys meant everything to him; they were his pride and joy.  

He was also the proud and fun loving “Pop Pop" to his cherished grandchildren; Scarlett, Paul, and Liam with another precious little baby Calhoun coming soon.  

Rick was a man of great faith; he served Victory Fellowship in many ways. He never turned down an opportunity to serve, he then stepped into his role and gifting as a teaching Pastor, he loved studying the word of God and sharing it’s truth. He deeply loved his church family and found love and joy in his congregation, whom he considered his extended family. He was especially grateful for the mentorship and friendship of Pastor Dan Diehl, his spiritual father in faith.  

Rick had 2 biological sisters; Wendy Johnson and Wendy Logue; 2 bonus sisters; Shannon Long and Samantha Foor. Rick had 3 brothers; Skyles Jr Calhoun, Richard Henderson, and Jeffrey Calhoun. He also shared a close and loving relationship with his in-laws; Jack and Myra Stevens.

Rick and Stephanie shared a life rich in activity and faith. They loved traveling, biking, hiking, and enjoying winter sports together.  Above all, they spent their time praising God and cherishing each other and their family.  

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Rick’s honor on Thursday, November 20th at 5 PM at Victory Fellowship in Bedford, PA with Pastor Dan Diehl officiating.  

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations may be made to Victory Fellowship, 409 East Pitt Street, Bedford, PA 15522 in Rick’s memory.

20 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings.  

21 Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart.  

22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
