Richard “Butch” E. Mellott, 68, of North Spring Street, Everett, PA; passed away on Wednesday, July 16, 2025 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. He was born on February 28, 1957 in Everett, PA; a son of the late Richard F. and Joann N. (Pepple) Mellott. On August 26, 1979 in the Everett Church of the Brethren he was united in marriage to Karen Sue (Bennett) Mellott. She preceded him in death on January 31, 2014.
He is survived by three children Christopher M. Mellott, Everett, PA and fiancé Laura Miller, Saxton, PA; Lois J. married to Kenneth Morse, Jr., Clearville, PA and Lena M. Morse married to Andrew Morse, Everett, PA; grandchildren Kendall Morse, Draidyn Morse, Jacey Morse, Trinity Morse, Marcus Morse, Matthew Mellott and Atlas Mellott; one great grandson Grayson Blake and siblings Cindy L. married to Harry E. Cook and Troy A. Mellott.
Butch served in the United States National Guard. He worked for many years for Brad Ferguson Eagle Mobile Homes.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and was a member of the Everett American Legion Post No. 08.
Family and Friends will be received on Saturday, July 19, 2025 from 9:30 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537
If friends so desire memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Mellott to the Akers Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses.
