R. Fred Penrod

R. Fred Penrod, 74, of New Paris, Pennsylvania; passed away on Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at UPMC Altoona Hospital.  He was born on April 23, 1947 in Frostburg, MD and lived in and around the Everett area all of his life; a son of the late Benjamin and Beulah (Warnick) Penrod.  He was united in marriage to Connie R. (Klotz) Penrod.  She preceded him in death on August 15, 2014.

 
He is survived by children Kevin B. Wallace married to Lorie, New Paris, PA; Shannon married to Matt Rhodes, Manns Choice, PA; Judith married to Garrie Goodwin; seven grandchildren Bradley and Branden Rhodes, Nathan and Jenna Wallace, Sabrina and Salena Appel and Hunter Goodwin; eight great grandchildren Stetson, Kendra, Piper, Colter, Nolan, Emilia, Bentley and Scarlet; companion Nancy McClucas; and siblings Betty Fleegle, Dale Penrod, Joe Penrod and LeRoy Stevey.
           
He was preceded in death by a daughter: Paula Sue Oliver in March 2014 and siblings Roger Stevey, Ronnie Stevey, Ben Penrod and Emma Stevey.

 
Fred was of the Christian Faith.
He was a member of the Bedford Masonic Lodge F. &A.M. No 320 and the Schellsburg V.F.W. Post 4440. 

Fred was an owner/operator for various trucking companies over the years until starting Penrod Trucking in 1976 until current.

He enjoyed restoring antique cars, attending car shows and riding his trike.  He especially enjoyed spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Friends and Family may call at the Akers Funeral Home, 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA on Friday, January 14, 2022 from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service.

Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 14, 2022 at 6:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor Daniel Oldham officiating.

Graveside Service will be held at the Everett Cemetery on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 9:00 A.M.
