Priscilla Louise (Reed) Masood

Priscilla Louise (Reed) Masood, age 91, of Frederick, Maryland, passed away February 27, 2020 in Martinsburg, PA. Born on December 3, 1928 to Hannah J. (Weaver) and Milton Reed of Saxton, PA, she was the second of five children. She married James P. Masood on April 29, 1951.

Priscilla attended Messiah College in Mechanicsburg, PA and studied Home Economics, which benefited her family through regular indulgence in the best cookies, sticky buns, and pies around. She was an avid gardener and amateur horticulturalist, taking great pride in her bountiful vegetable and flower gardens. She was very active in the Frederick Church of the Nazarene. From 1966 until retiring in 1993, she touched the lives of many students at Parkway Elementary School in Frederick, Maryland. She and her husband Jim dabbled in crafting where they participated in many local shows. Later they enjoyed their mountain second home near Weaver Falls by Lake Raystown. In recent years, she lived at Homewood Retirement Center in Martinsburg, PA.

Preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Sara Hollinger, and brothers Gerald Reed and Donald Reed, she is survived by son James Masood and wife Ann of Crossville, TN, daughter Lisa Giles and husband Robert Hollar of Kiawah Island, SC, granddaughter Kristen Masood-Sidebottom and husband Daniel Sidebottom of Hendersonville, TN, grandson Eric Masood of Crossville, TN, and brother Joel Reed of Saxton, PA.

Beloved Priscilla Masood was a terrific mother, grandmother and valued friend, with a feisty personality and a twinkle in her eye. She lived a full life and will be greatly missed.

The family will receive friends at 10:00 am Saturday March 7, 2020 at Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton, PA. Funeral services will follow at 11 am.  Burial will be held at Grandview Cemetery, Saxton, PA.
