Peggy Williams Obituary

Peggy J. Williams, 92 of Everett, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family at home on Thursday, May 21, 2026.  She was born in Everett on April 03, 1934, the daughter of the late Charles (Bud) and June (Bollman) Weicht.  She married Richard (Dick) Williams on November 23, 1954, in Winchester, VA.  God blessed them with a beautiful life together for 72 years.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Larry Williams, Everett, PA; son-in-law, Bryan Zimmerman, Everett, PA; three granddaughters: Amanda Reffner, married to Jason; Sarah Kaszubski, married to Brian; and Victoria Messersmith, married to Michael; one grandson, Steven Williams; four great-grandchildren, Eliza Reffner, Ian Reffner, Camden Kaszubski, and Noah Messersmith; brother, Richard Weicht; sister, Linda Swartzwelder, and brother, Victor Weicht.

She was preceded in death by their precious daughter, Lisa Zimmerman, and infant grandchildren, Rebecca Zimmerman and Ernie Williams.

She was a graduate of Everett High School, Class of 1953.  After graduation she worked at the Studebaker Garage in Everett, Wolf Furniture in Bedford, and the First National Bank in Everett from 1966 until 1986 until her retirement. Her ability to create and foster connections at work and in her personal life was remarkable—it was seldom that Peggy didn’t run into a friend while out in public or have friends stopping in to visit. She retired early to spend more time with her grandchildren and give more time serving the Lord.

She was a member of First Christian Church of Everett from a very young age.  She was a member of the New Crusader Class, member of the Women’s Fellowship Group, sang in the church choir for many years, taught Sunday School and served as a Deaconess.

Peggy loved to garden, spending many warm summer days outside working in the flowerbeds. She loved her family and friends deeply, with many of her hobbies centered around showering them with love: baking, cooking, mailing birthday cards, and spending time together.

Her family was the joy of her life.  She also had many beautiful friends she enjoyed spending time with.

Peggy touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of knowing her. Her selflessness, kind, and generous spirit will be remembered forever. She leaves behind a legacy of deep faith, strength, and kindness that lives on in everyone who knew her.

The family would like to give thanks to Lori Conrath and UPMC Family Hospice for showering Peggy with comfort, love, and support as she transitioned out of this life.
