Paul E. Zimmerman, 86, of Saxton, PA; passed away on Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. He was born on January 23, 1937 in Riddlesburg, PA; a son of the late Paul Harold and Blanche Luella (Fink) Zimmerman. On June 25, 1995 in Riddlesburg Church of the Brethren, he was united in marriage to LaDonna L. (Hockenberry) Zimmerman.
Along with his wife, he is survived by children Kathy Mincin and companion Timothy Kottcamp, York, PA; Randy Zimmerman married to Wendy (Zelanko), Saxton, PA; Kristy Marshall married to Doug, Carlisle, PA and Misty Corwell, Reedsville, PA; step-children John Sparks, Riddlesburg, PA; Peggy Park married to Dave, Riddlesburg, PA and Scott Sparks married to Christina, Saxton; eighteen grandchildren and twenty-two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by an infant son.
Mr. Zimmerman was a life member of the Riddlesburg Church of the Brethren, where he served as a Deacon and as Superintendent of Church Services.
Paul worked for R&R Vending in Saxton for forty-one years until his retirement.
He was a former member of the Tussey Mountain Jaycees, having served as President.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, bird watching and hunting/harvesting ginseng.
Friends and family may call at the Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton on Monday, December 18, 2023 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral chapel.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, December 18, 2023 at 12:00 Noon at the Akers Funeral Chapel with Pastor Tim McIntyre officiating.
Burial will be held privately at Yellow Creek Reformed Cemetery.
If friends so desire memorial contributions may be made in memory of Paul to the Riddlesburg Church of the Brethren.
