Patricia H. Mearkle

Patricia H. Mearkle, 94, of Locust Drive, Everett, PA; passed away on Tuesday, July 30, 2019 at her home.  She was born on July 1, 1925 in Everett, PA; a daughter of the late Oliver and Alma Grace (Hoover) Horton.  She married William E. Mearkle in Winchester, VA; he preceded her in death in June of 1989.

Mrs. Mearkle is survived by children Carol married to Donald Mearkle, Everett, PA; Greg Mearkle, Everett, PA; Cindy married to Rex Clark, Cornwall, PA; daughter-in-law Terry M. (Lynch) Mearkle, Everett, PA; grandchildren Nicole Graham, Penny Ramsey, and Megan Geisert, Kevin Price and Tim Price, Justin Mearkle, Jessica Wert, Kelsey Coon, Kyle Mearkle, Nate Clark, and Kerrigan Clark; great-grandchildren Cameron and Katie Graham, Marissa and Ethan Ramsey, Brody and Myra Geisert, Gavin and Gracie Price, Alyssa, Olivia, Victoria, and Titus Price, Aurora Mearkle, Le’ela and Christian Mearkle.

She was preceded in death by a son Richard D. “Rick” Mearkle and brothers Edward and Maynard Horton.

Patricia was a member of Christ’s Church of Bedford County.  She was a graduate of Everett Area High School Class of 1943.  She was a member of the Everett Women’s Club and a former Girl Scout leader. 

Pat was an avid sports fan that enjoyed watching any sporting event on television along with her game shows.

She worked as an administrative assistant at Dalla Valle Funeral Service, Inc. for over 25 years and prior to that she was a secretary for United Telephone for several years.

Friends and Family may call on Sunday, August 4, 2019 from 2-5 P.M. at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 and on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 5, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with son-in-law Rex Clark officiating.

Burial will be held at Everett Cemetery.
