Norman Ross Obituary

Norman Ross, 92, of Six Mile Run, PA; passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025 at The Village at Morrisons Cove.  He was born on December 18, 1932 in Dudley, PA; a son of the late James and Margaret (Carmack) Ross.  On January 8, 1956 in Cumberland, MD; he was united in marriage to Joan (Shaffern) Ross.

Along with his wife of sixty-nine years, he is survived by three children Sharon Fessler married to Wayne, Dudley; Norman Barney Ross married to Susan, Hopewell and Donna White married to Paul, Defiance; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren and siblings Ruth Ross, Madelyn Miller, and Ellen Miller.

He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, grandson Nathan Fessler, great grandchild Dani Drew White and siblings Mary Ross, James Ross and Martha Ross.

Mr. Ross was a member of the Six Mile Run Church of God.

He spent his career working at Letterkenny Army Depot for forty-four years until his retirement.  He enjoyed playing checkers, watching NASCAR racing and going to the Hopewell Senior Center.

Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 01, 2025 at 3:30 P.M. at Akers Funeral Chapel with Pastor C.R. Martin officiating.

Friends may call at Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton, PA, on Friday, August 01, 2025 from 2:30 P.M. until the hour of service at the funeral chapel.

Burial will be held privately at Duvall Cemetery.

If friends so desire memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Ross to the Six Mile Run Fire Hall, 1064 Six Mile Run Road, Six Mile Run, PA 16679 or Hopewell Senior Center, 305 Mifflin Street, Hopewell, PA  16650.
