Norma P. (Calhoun) Gordon

Norma P. Gordon, 87, of Everett, PA; passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Bedford Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.  She was born on September 2, 1936 in Everett, PA; a daughter of the late Harold W. and Dorothy I. (Zimmerman) Calhoun.  On November 30, 1955 in Cumberland, MD; she was united in marriage to Glen Gordon.

Along with her husband of sixty-seven years, she is survived by a daughter Christie Hull married to Chris, New Enterprise, PA; grandson Tyler Hull, New Enterprise; great grandchildren Sydney, Logan and Evan; sister Patricia Beegle married to Bob, Bedford; sister-in-law JoAnn Calhoun, Everett and two nieces and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother Galen Calhoun.

Mrs. Gordon was a member of the Mt. Union Christian Church, where she served as a deaconess.

She was a graduate of Everett Area High School, Class of 1954.  Her employment included GC Murphy, Stailey’s Day Care Center and St. James Thrift Shop for 25 years.

She enjoyed square dancing, playing cards, going to yard sales, taking car rides and listening to the music of Daniel O’Donnell.  She served as president of the Do-Si-Do's square dancing club alongside her husband Glen.  

She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.  She will be greatly missed.

Friends and Family will be received on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 from 4-8 P.M. at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA and on Wednesday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the church.

Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. at the Mt. Union Christian Church with Pastor Todd Greenawalt officiating.

Burial will be held at the Mt. Union Cemetery.

If friends so desire memorial contributions may be made in memory of Norma to the Mt. Union Christian Church.
