Nancy L. (Walter) Hoover

Nancy L. Hoover, 83 years old, of Hoover Road Saxton, Pa. passed away early Friday morning, August 12, 2022 at Conemaugh Nason Medical Center in Roaring Spring, Pa. with her husband & family by her side. She was born on January 9, 1939 in Osterburg, Pa., a daughter of the late Wilson and Mary (Corle) Walter. On June 30, 1957, she was united in marriage to Gilbert L. Hoover at the Raven Run Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Percy Kegarise.

Along with her husband of 65 years, she is survived by three children; Douglas W. Hoover, Sr., Saxton; Alecia Crownover married to Bill, Tyrone and Anessa Norris, Saxton; eight grandchildren; Apryle Hoover and fiancé Brian Amick, Sherri McMullen married to Clair, Douglas W. Hoover, Jr married to Jenni, Matthew Hoover married to Nikki, Michael Crownover, Lacey Crownover married to Frankie Olschewski, Vance Crownover married to Kelcie and James Norris married to Amber; 20 great-grandchildren; Dylan Price, Kylee Price, Damian Price, Kameron Price, Adrianne (AJ) Price, Jaxson Amick, George McMullen, Nevin McMullen, Caleb McMullen, Owen McMullen, Bailey Hoover, Layla Hoover, Zaiden Hoover, Zyler Hoover, Marley Crownover, Adelyn Olschewski, Kinsley Crownover, Kenton Crownover, Gavin Norris and Miah Norris.

She was preceded in death by her two brothers, Tom and Ross Walter.

Nancy was a graduate of the Bedford High School, Class of 1956.

She was a member of the United Church of Christ in Imler and attended Raven Run Church of the Brethren, Saxton, Pa.

Mrs. Hoover worked at Claudia Footwear in Woodvale, Pa.  She was the owner of Hoover’s Dari Treat in Saxton, Pa. for sixteen years, along with her husband Gilbert.

She cherished spending time with her family, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She enjoyed her annual trip to the Huntingdon County Fair and was with her family this past Wednesday afternoon at the fair.

Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, August 16, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at The Raven Run Church of the Brethren with Pastor Rob Reed and Pastor Dan Hammel officiating.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 from 10:30 A.M. until the hour of service at the Raven Run Church of the Brethren.

Burial will be held at St. Luke’s Cemetery.
