Michael Lynn Simpson, 63, of Hollar’s Extension, Everett, PA; passed away on Sunday, June 20, 2021 at home. He was born on November 13, 1957 in Everett, PA; son of the late Charles and Betty (Swindell) Simpson. He is survived by his cousin who was more like a brother, Monty Bulger; nieces and nephews Leigh Ann Beck, Michael Charles Chalfant and Kari L. Fisher; great nieces and nephews Ryan, Mya, Colby, Karna and Jameson and too many friends to count.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by siblings Penny Simpson and baby brother Simpson and dogs that were his children Maggie, Harley and Petey.
Mr. Simpson was a graduate of Everett Area High School, Class of 1975. After high school he went on to serve in the United States Navy. After his service to our country he went to work for R.L. Abatement.
Michael was a member of the Everett V.F.W. Post No. 2088 and was an avid motorcycle rider and enthusiast. He loved his Pittsburgh Steelers and had a passion for donating to over thirty charities; of which Wounded Warrior Project, St. Jude and ASPCA he was particularly fond of. Michael had the greatest sense of humor and could get away with just about anything with that “Mike Simpson Smile”.
Friends and family will be received on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537 from 5:00- 8:00 P.M. and on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Funeral Service will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Bruce Maxwell officiating.
Burial will be held at Cedar Grove Memorial Park, Breezewood, PA with military honors held by Everett Area Honor Guard.
