Martha Julia Treece, 84, of James Creek, PA; passed away on Friday, June 7, 2024 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. She was born on June 25, 1939 in Huntingdon, PA; a daughter of the late John and Julia (Horning) Suba. On November 2, 1959 in Hagerstown, MD; she was united in marriage to David D. "Fireball" Treece. He preceded her in death on May 25, 2001.
She is survived by three sons Edward Treece married to Jennifer, Saxton; Joseph Treece, Frankford, DE and Gerald Mike Treece, James Creek; grandchildren Joshua married to Rebecca, Zachary married to Jennifer, Megan Treece and significant other Seth Gropp, Jason Bailey and Jeremy Bailey; three great grandchildren Aria, Griffin and Hudson.
She was preceded in death by siblings Mary, Bertha, Ann, Willie, George, Johnny and an infant son Patrick Frederick Treece.
Martha was of the Greek Orthodox Faith.
She retired from SCI Huntingdon, where she cooked. Over the years she also worked at Cove Shoe, Avon Sales and in home care.
Mrs. Treece graduated from Huntingdon High School Class of 1958. She was a member of the Saxton Sportsmans Club, Alexandria America Legion Auxiliary and the Marklesburg Volunteer Fire Company Auxiliary.
Friends and Family will be received on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 from 6-8 P.M. at the Akers Funeral Chapel, 715 Church Street, Saxton, PA 16678 and on Thursday from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.
Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the Akers Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dale Parker officiating.
Burial will be held privately at Russelllville Methodist Cemetery.
