Marshall “Butch” Newton Thompson, 75, departed this earthly life on July 30, 2021 due to an accident in Breezewood, PA. He was born February 14,1946 in Winchester, VA. Marshall's father was Newton William Thompson and his mother was Rose Bell (both deceased). He was raised by his father, grandfather, grandmother, and aunt.
Marshall has one surviving brother Riley Thompson who lives in Clifton Forge, VA. He also has a half-brother Marshall Prather and a half-sister Sally Devlin. He has a cousin Ed Hisghman and wife, Brenda, who did a lot for Marshall.
Marshall was raised in a small town named Meyerstown, WV. He went to Kabletown Elementary School for six years and then went to junior high in Charles Town for two years. The next four years he went to Charles Town High where he graduated in 1965. Marshall enjoyed all sports, especially track and field during high school. He was an accomplished miler. Marshall worked at JC Penney’s after school as an associate. He was also employed at Sky Meadows as a cook.
Marshall was of the Protestant Faith, attending a variety of ministries in the Breezewood community.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home, Everett, PA with Pastor Bruce Maxwell officiating.
