Marl R. Ritchey

On May 24, 2024, Marl Ritchey finished his race here on earth and woke up in the presence of his Lord and Savior. He will be greatly missed by his wife Carolyn Jean (King) Ritchey, children Dennis, Kathy, Starla and Steve, Sons-in-law, Daughters-in-law, Grandchildren Brook (with him in heaven), Denny, David, Tyler, Brett, Amanda, Hunter and Kaylie, and Great-grandchildren Lawson, Bentley, Leah, Porter, Jack and Yardley. 

Born July 31st, 1933 to Clayton and Alma Ritchey of Yellow Creek, he is the last surviving member of his immediate family. He cherished all of them and their extended families. 

Marl loved God, his wife, his family, his church family and many, many friends he had the pleasure to make through the years. He passionately loved hunting and fishing, and the many stories we have are precious memories that we hold dear.

Marl was always a hard worker. He drove truck most of his life beginning with Luther Beegle Trucking. He then worked for Gary’s Mobile Homes as manager of the set-up crew. Later he worked for Leaseway and finally for New Enterprise Trucking. 

He had a special love for land and farming, which was how he was raised. He had a God-given green thumb and loved planting his garden and sharing the produce. The flower bed at his home was a favorite project and always so beautiful. 

Marl was a long-time member of the Everett Church of God, and a member of the Council for many years. He enjoyed teaching Sunday School for over 39 years and many of those children grew to be lifelong friends. 

Marl’s family would like to thank his many caregivers, UPMC doctors and nurses and Hospice for their excellent care during his final days. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at the Everett Church of God with Pastor John Kisner and Pastor Gary Boor officiating.

Friends and family will be received for a time of visitation on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 9:30 A.M. until the hour of service at the church.

Burial will be held privately at Ritchey Cemetery.
