Mark C. Porter, 86 of Jacks Corner Road, Hopewell, PA passed away on October 31, 2025 at home. He was born on November 15, 1938, in Hopewell, PA; a son of the late Walter and Elizabeth (Williams) Porter. On June 27, 1958, in Hopewell Township; he was united in marriage to Carol L. (Batzel) Porter.
Along with his wife he is survived children Kim E. Clark married to Jan, of Everett, PA and Michael S. Porter married to Pamela, of Beech Creek, PA; seven grandchildren Ashlan Clark, Taylor Clark, Alexandra Wertz, Cameron Porter, Isaac Porter, Caleb Porter and Lucas Porter; eight great grandchildren Aria, Jack, Lincoln, Norah, Eli, Benny, Maliya and Liam.
He was preceded in death by siblings William Porter and Sarah Porter.
Mark served in the United States Army serving from July 1958 – May 1961.
Mr. Porter was a carpenter by trade and was a member of the Carpenter Local Union until his retirement.
Mark attended Woodbury Church of the Brethren.
He is known for his beautiful woodworking craftsmanship. He enjoyed spending time with his family; this was very important to him. Mark greatly enjoyed hunting with longtime companions and held those memories close to his heart, sharing the stories with his family often.
Friends and family will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 from 11:00 A.M. -1:00 P.M. at the Akers Funeral Home, Inc., 299 Raystown Road, Everett, PA 15537.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025 at 1:00 P.M. in the Chapel at Akers Funeral Home with Pastor David Scott officiating.
Burial will be held privately at Bedford Forge Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in honor of Mark to St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital, P.O. Box 1999, Memphis, TN 38101.
